Components

Your app does not describe machines, replicas or routing rules. It declares what shape each part of it is — something that answers requests, something that works in the background, something that runs once and finishes — and Zhenfy One builds it, runs it, and gives the parts that need one a public address.

The three shapes

KindShown asWhat it runsReach for it when
serviceServicea container that serves HTTPanything with a URL — a site, an API, or both in one
workerWorkera container with no addresswork that must continue after the response is sent
jobJoba container that runs and exitsa task on a schedule, or one-off work

The Shown as column is the word the platform uses when it describes your app back to you — the Architecture section of a build’s readout and its diagram both name a component this way, so a background worker is never announced to you as a service. The kind is what your project’s deploy contract declares and what the Admin tab lists. In the diagram every node shows the component’s own name in full and, beneath it, the name of its kind: one of these three for a component, and for a store or integration the kind’s own name (Relational database, Cache, Work queue, Event stream, Search index, Analytics store, Object storage, AI model access, Admin sign-in, Seeded member accounts). The set is fixed by the platform; the diagram cannot print a kind it does not support.

A website with no backend is a Service too

There is no separate kind for an app with no backend. A website ships as a container like everything else, so it is a Service that happens to serve files. One less decision to get wrong, and the app can grow an API later without changing shape.

Routing, scaling, metrics and canaries are properties, not add-ons

Whether a Service is reachable from the internet, how many copies of it run, whether its metrics are collected, and what a health check should look for are all fields on the component itself. They are part of what the thing is, so there is nothing to attach separately and nothing to forget to attach.
